At the end of February, 2019, a two-day workshop was organized by Da Nang Food Safety Management Authority, Vietnam University of Agriculture (VNUA) and Rikolto to develop a strategy for Da Nang to become a food-smart city. During the workshop, research findings by Rikolto and VNUA on Da Nang's food value chains and food policies were shared with different stakeholders from both public and private sectors in Da Nang and nearby provinces. The participants later on came up with seven objectives for the food smart city and respective action plans to achieve them. The first draft of the strategy will be introduced to relevant stakeholders for consultation in March.
This workshop is part of the project funded by Belgian Development Agency.
