Hoang My Lan Ph.D.
Ms. My Lan has more than 20 years of experience in international working environment with a concentration on agriculture and rural development, agricultural value chains and marketing, pro-poor development and decentralized finance and planning, forestry and climate change. This has included work in universities, donor agencies, NGO and private sector. During the last 12 years, Dr. My Lan has worked in senior roles in Vietnam. She has been managing a portfolio of projects and programs of about 5 million USD/year; establishing comprehensive M&E system for the portfolio and also providing technical advices to partners in the areas of agriculture and rural development, inclusive business, natural resource management including forestry and climate change, and environment. Dr. My Lan has directly involved in the conceptualization of Market Access for the Rural Poor program (MARP), value chain and business development, assessment on the forestry sector from the project design and bidding process through implementation, market for the poor, rural advisory services, to food security, livestock development, forestry, climate change, air pollution to decentralization of planning and financial management. In her earlier career, Ms. My Lan was a program manager for policy, advocacy and networking in a Belgian NGO (VECO) where she was responsible for advocacy strategy development and implementation in the country and in the region including policies analysis, deliver training and coaching to partners, develop and maintain relationship with key players at national and regional levels related to sustainable agriculture, livelihood, civil society inclusion, impacts of WTO and FTA.
Hoang Thanh Hai - Vegetables Programme Coordinator and Tea Expert
Before joining Rikolto in May 2011 as a Field Coordinator, Hai had 11 years of experience as a socioeconomic development planning specialist, during which he worked for four development organizations: UNDP/IFAD, GFA/GTZ, Oxfam Quebec and Helvetas. Hai obtained a Master in Market Research and Marketing Strategies from Nantes University, France in 2010. He has expertise in market research, socio-economic development planning and M&E. He also has experience in managing large-scale public-private partnerships and has implemented projects for multiple stakeholders including Unilever, Rainforest Alliance and the Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH). Recently Hai has completed the Rainforest Alliance’s Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN) training and obtained a score of over 90%. Since 2017, Hai is the focal point for Rikolto's International Food-Smart Cities cluster in Vietnam.
Le Tuan - Senior Programme Officer (Rice)
Tuan obtained a Master's Degree in International Business from La Trobe University, Australia in 2012. Before joining Rikolto as a Senior Rice Programme Officer in November 2017, Tuan had 4 years of experience working in the rice sector in the Mekong Delta, during which he worked as a trading and planning deputy manager for Orient Rice Co., Ltd – a joint venture rice mill between Vinafood 1 and Louis Dreyfus Company. Drawing on his experience in the business sector, Tuan is now dedicated to contribute to the sustainable development of the rice sector in Vietnam.
Nguyen Thi Den - Programme Officer (Safe Vegetables)
Den holds a Bachelor in Agronomy from Hanoi Agricultural University. Prior to joining Rikolto, she worked as a project officer for the Rural Development Services Center (RDSC). Her experience includes formulation and provision of technical trainings and capacity building for CBOs, production group and agriculture co-operative chain development with program partners in Viet Tri City. She is a proactive and enthusiastic worker, with experiences in delivering/overseeing trainings, both technical and related to business management. Recently Den has completed the Rainforest Alliance’s Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN) trainings and obtained a score of over 90%.
Tran Thi Thap Hieu - Project Officer (FVN - Food Systems Innovations Project)
Before joining in Rikolto, Hieu had more than 5 years of experience as a researcher in Faculty of Fisheries at Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA). Hieu achieved a Master scholarship in Aquaculture which funded by VLIR-UOS, Belgium. Attending in many projects which enhanced sustainable development of agriculture, Hieu has passion for supporting the poors and farmers to increase income and profits from the products that they produce. She started working at Rikolto in Vietnam in November 2018 at the position of Project Officer to work for the project ‘Increasing fruit and vegetable intake of low-income populations in Vietnam and Nigeria through food system innovations’ (FVN project). The project is funded by the UK’s Department of International Development (DFID) and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF).
Nguyen Thi Yen Thu – Program Intern
She is studying at Foreign Trade University, majoring in External Economics. Before joining Rikolto, she has been a member many projects about the application of technology into logistics contributing to increase the value of agricultural products in Vietnam and running some small projects herself to raise the awareness of students about environmental protection issues. She has a special interest in agriculture business in general and the import and export of agricultural products in particular.
Le Hong Hanh - Junior Planning, Learning and Accountability (PLA) Officer
Hanh graduated from Hanoi's National Economics University with a major in finance and banking. Before joining Rikolto, she contributed to several social projects focusing on understanding poverty and promoting integrity among people. She started working at Rikolto in Vietnam in 2015 as an intern for the project ‘Integrating Smallholders into Quality and Sustainable Tea Supply Chains in Vietnam’, funded by Rainforest Alliance. Hanh has continued to work in the tea sub-sector as a project assistant since January 2016 and also provides support to the safe and organic vegetables projects.
Finance and Administration
Nguyen Thi Nhu Hoa - Finance, Administration and Human Resources Manager
Hoa obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Economy and Accounting from the Commercial University in Hanoi. Before joining Rikolto Vietnam in April 2000, she had 7 years of working experience in the business sector as an accountant and chief accountant for both Vietnamese and international organizations. Previous positions within Rikolto include the positions of Accountant (2000-2005) and Financial Officer (2005-2006). She moved into the position of Finance and Administration Manager in July 2006. As main responsible of the Finance/Administration unit she ensures its efficient and effective operation, in order to contribute to the mission of Rikolto.
Ngo Thi Thu Phuong - Finance Officer
Phuong obtained a Master of Business Administration at the Franco-Vietnamese Center for Management Training (CFVG) of the Hanoi National Economic University. She also obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages with a major in French from the University of Foreign Languages. Before joining Rikolto as an accountant, Phuong worked for Gide Loyrette Nouel, a French lawyer's firm in Hanoi and for Médecins du Monde, a French NGO, where she mainly worked in finance. Phuong joined the Rikolto team in September 2006. She is highly responsible, precise and reliable.
Do Thi Tiep - Administrative Officer
Tiep graduated at Hanoi University Business and Technology, majoring in Business Management. Before Rikolto, she has been working as an Admin Officer in a manufactory for more than 3 years. She always enjoys supporting people and wants to contribute to create a nice, effective and professional working environment. Her dream is travelling around the world to meet different people and experience diverse cultures.
Nguyen Thu Nguyet - Finance Intern
She is studying at Academy of Finance, majoring in Accounting. Before joining Rikolto, she has joined many projects and competitions about environment protection, auditing and accounting such as Auditing and Accounting Challenge. She has passion in accounting, financial analysis, as well as enquiring about social problems such as environment, food safe, and children’s right.
