Hoang My Lan Ph.D.
Ms. My Lan has more than 20 years of experience in an international working environment with a concentration on agriculture and rural development, agricultural value chains, and marketing, pro-poor development and decentralized finance and planning, forestry, and climate change. This has included work in universities, donor agencies, NGOs, and the private sector. During the last 12 years, Dr. My Lan has worked in senior roles in Vietnam. She has been managing a portfolio of projects and programs of about 5 million USD/year; establishing a comprehensive M&E system for the portfolio and also providing technical advice to partners in the areas of agriculture and rural development, inclusive business, natural resource management including forestry and climate change, and environment. Dr. My Lan has been directly involved in the conceptualization of Market Access for the Rural Poor program (MARP), value chain and business development, assessment on the forestry sector from the project design and bidding process through implementation, the market for the poor, rural advisory services, to food security, livestock development, forestry, climate change, air pollution to decentralization of planning and financial management. In her earlier career, Ms. My Lan was a program manager for policy, advocacy, and networking in a Belgian NGO (VECO) where she was responsible for advocacy strategy development and implementation in the country and in the region including policies analysis, deliver training and coaching to partners, develop and maintain a relationship with key players at national and regional levels related to sustainable agriculture, livelihood, civil society inclusion, impacts of WTO and FTA.
Hoang Thi Lua - Programme Coordinator
Lua graduated and holds a Ph.D. in Agriculture and Horticulture Science from Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany. Before joining Rikolto on 21 June 2021, Lua used to work for a number of international development and research organizations in Vietnam; she coordinated different development projects in the field of sustainable forest management and nature conservation, and poverty reduction. She worked as a scientist at ICRAF Vietnam, conducting research on various topics such as agroforestry systems, climate-resilient agricultural solutions, integrated farming systems for the Humidtropics in Central Mekong; coordinating activities of the Research for Development (R4D) platform - a multi-stakeholder platform; take the lead in the implementation of research activities under the topic “Value chain development for agroforestry products”. She has recently coordinated the activities of a regional project on “Regional training network for scaling up of pro-poor value chain initiatives” from which the Value Chain Capacity Building network (VCB-N) was born.
Dam Trong Tuan - Senior Programme Officer (FSC - Food Smart Cities)
Tuan Dam obtained a Bachelor’s Science in Forestry Management from the Vietnam National University of Forestry and a Master of Arts in Development Studies Science on Local and Regional Development from the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague - the Netherlands. Before joining Rikolto, he has more than 20 years of experience working in various local and international development organizations. In his early career, he was both project/programme officer and managerial positions for the grants funded by German BMZ, PARTNER Canada, ICCO-The Netherlands, CCFD-France, NPA-Norway, MISEREOR, SODI- Germany, EU, and IFAD. He successfully delivered achievements for results-based and multi-track projects/programes in complex and challenging settings and across from local and national to the Mekong and the Asia Pacific Regions. These projects/ programmes focus on strengthening institutional development and local capacity in farming, promoting green alternatives and agroecological value chains for sustainable and equitable economic growth including cross-cutting topics i.e., environmental sustainability and gender equity. He is now dedicated to the Food Smart Cities (FSC) programme of Rikolto.
Le Tuan - Senior Programme Officer (Rice)
Tuan Le obtained a Master's Degree in International Business from La Trobe University, Australia in 2012. Before joining Rikolto as a Senior Rice Programme Officer in November 2017, Tuan had 4 years of experience working in the rice sector in the Mekong Delta, during which he worked as a trading and planning deputy manager for Orient Rice Co., Ltd – a joint venture rice mill between Vinafood 1 and Louis Dreyfus Company. Drawing on his experience in the business sector, Tuan is now dedicated to contributing to the sustainable development of the rice sector in Vietnam.
Nguyen Thi Den - Programme Officer (Safe Vegetables)
Den holds a Bachelor in Agronomy from Hanoi Agricultural University. Prior to joining Rikolto, she worked as a project officer for the Rural Development Services Center (RDSC). Her experience includes formulation and provision of technical training and capacity building for CBOs, production groups, and agriculture co-operative chain development with program partners in Viet Tri City. She is a proactive and enthusiastic worker, with experience in delivering/overseeing training, both technical and related to business management. Recently Den has completed the Rainforest Alliance’s Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN) training and obtained a score of over 90%.
Tran Thi Thap Hieu - Project Officer (FVN - Food Systems Innovations Project)
Before joining Rikolto, Hieu had more than 5 years of experience as a researcher in the Faculty of Fisheries at Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA). Hieu achieved a Master's scholarship in Aquaculture which was funded by VLIR-UOS, Belgium. Attending many projects which enhanced the sustainable development of agriculture, Hieu has a passion for supporting the poors and farmers to increase income and profits from the products that they produce. She started working at Rikolto in Vietnam in November 2018 in the position of Project Officer to work for the project ‘Increasing fruit and vegetable intake of low-income populations in Vietnam and Nigeria through food system innovations’ (FVN project). The project is funded by the UK’s Department of International Development (DFID) and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF).
Dao Thi Tieu Anh - Project Intern (FVN - Food Systems Innovations Project)
Tieu Anh graduated from Hanoi University with a major in International Studies. Since she was a student, she had different activities on environmental protection. She started working at Rikolto in Vietnam in April 2021 as an intern for FVN project which focuses on Food System Innovations in 2 districts (Dong Da and Ha Dong) of Hanoi, Vietnam. Her objective now is continuously learning and exploring her potentials in the field of sustainable development.
Le Hong Hanh - Junior Planning, Learning and Accountability (PLA) Officer
Hanh graduated from Hanoi's National Economics University with a major in finance and banking. Before joining Rikolto, she contributed to several social projects focusing on understanding poverty and promoting integrity among people. She started working at Rikolto in Vietnam in 2015 as an intern for the project ‘Integrating Smallholders into Quality and Sustainable Tea Supply Chains in Vietnam’, funded by Rainforest Alliance. Hanh has continued to work in the tea sub-sector as a project assistant since January 2016 and also provides support to safe and organic vegetable projects.
Finance and Administration
Nguyen Thi Nhu Hoa - Finance, Administration and Human Resources Manager
Hoa obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Economy and Accounting from the Commercial University in Hanoi. Before joining Rikolto Vietnam in April 2000, she had 7 years of working experience in the business sector as an accountant and chief accountant for both Vietnamese and international organizations. Previous positions within Rikolto include the positions of Accountant (2000-2005) and Financial Officer (2005-2006). She moved into the position of Finance and Administration Manager in July 2006. As the main responsible for the Finance/Administration unit, she ensures its efficient and effective operation, in order to contribute to the mission of Rikolto.
Ngo Thi Thu Phuong - Finance Officer
Phuong obtained a Master of Business Administration at the Franco-Vietnamese Center for Management Training (CFVG) of the Hanoi National Economic University. Before joining Rikolto as an accountant, Phuong worked for Gide Loyrette Nouel, a French lawyer's firm in Hanoi, and for Médecins du Monde, a French NGO, where she mainly worked in finance. Phuong joined the Rikolto team in September 2006. She is highly responsible, precise, and reliable.
Doan Thi Kim Ngan - Finance Intern
Ngan has graduated from Foreign Trade University in Hanoi with a major in International Finance. She started working at Rikolto in Vietnam in January 2021 as a finance intern, assisting the Finance Officer in checking accounting documents upon conformity with organization rules and regulations. She is a hardworking person with an eagerness to learn and an open attitude.
Do Thi Tiep - Administrative Officer
Tiep graduated from Hanoi University Business and Technology, majoring in Business Management. Before Rikolto, she has been working as an Admin Officer in a manufactory for more than 3 years. She always enjoys supporting people and wants to contribute to creating a nice, effective, and professional working environment. Her dream is to travel around the world to meet different people and experience diverse cultures.
Vuong Tuyet Nhung – Communications Officer
Nhung obtained a Master of Public Relations at the Vietnam Academy of Journalism and Communication. She also obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages with a major in English from the University of Foreign Languages (Hanoi University). Nhung has 13 years of experience in communication, branding and visibility management, program promotion, media relations, and campaign strategies. She has developed communication products across different platforms, including media, websites, and other social media channels. Nhung joined the Rikolto team in September 2020.
