As part of a capitalisation project on Participatory Guarantee Systems in Vietnam, Vietnam National University of Agriculture and Rikolto investigated all existing PGS in Vietnam to analyse how PGS could be improved. This case study looks at the factors that contribute to making Thanh Xuan intergroup, established by the Danish NGO ADDA, one of the most successful and sustainable PGS in Vietnam.

Over the 10 years of their existence in Vietnam, Participatory Guarantee Systems have encountered many successes but also sometimes serious struggles. This case study dives into the challenges experiences by one PGS in northern Vietnam and proposes recommendations on how to avoid some of the common pitfalls.
Case study: Habits, concerns and preferences of vegetables consumers in Hanoi

Did you know that about one quarter of households in Hanoi grow their own safe vegetables at home? And that 97% of respondents to our study are either worried (30%) or extremely worried (67.5%) about food safety? This short case study provides information on a wide range of issues such as the main motivations and obstacles to safe and organic food consumption and consumers' preferred places for vegetables shopping in Hanoi.
Sharing experiences from applied model of Participatory Guarantee System

With the support of VECO Vietnam, starting in 2010, Phu Tho Plant Protection Department in collaboration with various local government units have piloted " Participatory Guarantee System (PGS)" for SV in Tan Duc Commune,Viet Tri City, Phu Tho Province. The experience is documented in this publication.
